How it works

Lignocaine Topical belongs to a group of medicines called local anaesthetics. It works by making the pain nerves unable to send messages to the brain. Polymyxins interact with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria and are subsequently taken up via the ‘self-promoted uptake’ pathway.Neomycin is bactericidal in action. Similar to other aminoglycosides, it inhibits bacterial protein synthesis through irreversible binding to the 30 S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria.Bacitracin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. This is achieved by preventing the final dephosphorylation step in the phospholipid carrier cycle, which interferes with the mucopeptide transfer to the growing cell wall. Zinc is used to treat minor skin ailments such as burns, cuts, minor wounds, dandruff and eczema and can help with irritating symptoms such as itching, redness, peeling skin and inflammation.
