Scabies lotions, typically containing permethrin, are used to kill scabies mites (tiny parasites burrowing under skin) causing intense itching, redness, and bumps, by applying a thin layer to the entire body (jawline down to feet, between fingers/toes, armpits, genitals) for 8-12 hours before rinsing, often requiring a second application in a week to eliminate newly hatched mites. They are for external use only, killing mites and eggs, and are generally safe for adults, pregnant/breastfeeding individuals, and children over 2 months, though side effects like mild skin irritation can occur.
Apply thinly from neck/jawline down to soles of feet, including between fingers/toes, armpits, navel, genitals, and buttocks.
Can be applied to the scalp, face, neck, and ears if mites are present there.
Use an old toothbrush to get lotion under fingernails and toenails.
Keep on for 8-12 hours (usually overnight) before washing off with warm water.
