LUMFORT 5mg/5ml Syrup is an antihistamine medication containing the active ingredient
Loratadine. It is used to provide relief from various allergy symptoms and skin conditions in both adults and children over 2 years of age.
Primary Uses:
- Allergic Rhinitis (Hay Fever): Relieves temporary symptoms caused by seasonal or perennial allergies, including a runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and an itchy nose or throat.
- Urticaria (Hives): Treats symptoms of chronic hives, such as red, itchy skin rashes and raised bumps.
- General Allergic Reactions: Manages symptoms of itching and redness caused by various triggers, including pet dander, pollen, or certain food allergies.
- Allergic Cough: May help reduce the frequency of coughs associated with nasal diseases or postnasal drip.
Typical Dosage Guidelines:
Dosage is generally taken once daily and is often based on the patient’s weight or age.
- Adults and Children (over 12 years): 10ml (10mg) once daily.
- Children (2 to 12 years):
- Weight over 30kg: 10ml (10mg) once daily.
- Weight 30kg or less: 5ml (5mg) once daily.
- Children under 2 years: Generally not recommended unless specifically prescribed by a doctor.
