How it works

Fluocinolone acetonide is a synthetic anti-inflammatory corticosteroid and thus, the effect of its interaction with the body produces vasoconstriction and suppression of membrane permeability, mitotic activity, immune response and release of inflammatory mediators. Neomycin is bactericidal in action. Similar to other aminoglycosides, it inhibits bacterial protein synthesis through irreversible binding to the 30 S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria.

Side Effects

Cushingoid changes , adrenal suppression , locak skin reactions , acne , atrophy , striae , telangiectasia , mild pigmentation , hypertrichosis , pruritis , folliculitis . Hypersensitive reactions incl contact dermatitis ( discontinue) .

Indication

It is used to do management of local inflammatory , pruritic , and allergic skin disorders where secondary bacterial infection is present or likely .

Hypersensitive to any of the ingredients in the list .

Precautions

Precaution

Children may absorb proportionally larger amounts of topical corticosteroids and thus be more susceptible to systemic toxicity .If irritation develops, topical corticosteroids should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.

Warnings

Warning 1

In the presence of dermatological infections, the use of an appropriate antifungal or antibacterial agent should be instituted. If a favorable response does not occur promptly, the corticosteroid should be discontinued until the infection has been adequately controlled.

Warning 2

This medication is to be used as directed by the physician. It is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes .

Warning 3

Patients should be advised not to use this medication for any disorder other than that for which it was prescribed.
